Fire Poppy

We hiked in the Whittier Fire area on the Tequepis trail for the first time since last July when it burned. There were many flowers but we noticed this one in particular. It is a Fire Poppy, about 1" wide and appears after fires. Very pretty.  It reminded us of the first night of the fire when I took the second photo below. The Tequepis trail is somewhere in this inferno.
